Sneak Peek

We're going to receive something exclusive and very beautiful at Lark soon.  Maybe something like that in the photo ; ). I'm really excited about lots of good things that are happening around us at Lark right now, and I hope we can get to share the excitement with you in the very near future!

At night.

I had fun with my new camera the other night.
The water front area looks really cool at night with the construction and the lights. The bridge is nice, but I wish it much much bigger and longer.
Now, I really want to see the movie, Metropolis (1927) again......

Just aged.

I had a lovely evening with my friends last night. I was too busy chatting and eating to take pictures at the party, so I decided to photograph the presents they gave me today.

Architecture of Happiness

If you happen to be fortunate enough to be in London this September you can see Alain de Botton speak! This came from a very culturally aware friend. Thanks Joyce!

I wish I could go. Damn you responsibility!

The Lion

I just found this blog called The Lion. This artist/blogger finds photographs and matches them with songs. Each day she adds an image with a song that she thinks sounds like the image looks.

Check out the link and see which song this picture is paired with!

Alain de Botton

I am looking forward to reading this book this summer! Alain de Botton writes about some of my favourite subjects. Many of my favourite subjects actually do not require text, but I think this book will be worth the effort!

Lost and Found

I like very old photographs like these. This website collects found photographs. They were lost somewhere somehow, and were found by someone somewhere somehow repeatedly to get here. I enjoy looking at all the details in the photographs, and I think it'd be fascinating to know how they've traveled all the way to present.
(Pictures by time tales. It's a collection of found photographs from pre 1930's to present.)

a bout de souffle

jeansunglasses.jpgJean-Paul Belmondo et Jean Seberg. Ciné Classic
This is a really good looking movie. I enjoy watching the scenery, the cars, the news papers, and of course all the clothes in it.

fats waller - your feet's too big

I watch this video every now and again. I love the play on proportion with the clothes. Fats Waller's sweater vests were so tiny and his pants so high in the rise! So cute!

What a lovely video.

God Knows (You gotta give to get) by El Perro Del Mar

This video makes me smile. I enjoy this kind of animation a lot, and I love the outfits on the characters in this video.

SAILORS’ WHISK BRUSH
Recently featured in London’s Design Museum, this handbrush was traditionally made by sailors and is now made by hand by a rope enthusiast in Suffolk. Its clever construction means that it is constructed from one piece of rope. A useful brush for kitchen worktops etc.

I love this store: Labour and Wait in London.  They have a great variety of timeless and functional products for daily life. I adore this shop a lot, and I'm sure they're just like us who like to talk about the stories of the products and can appreciate beauty in simple and classic design.

Things that keep me up at night

This picture makes me SO happy! I totally want to sleep in this bed. It's from Written Afterwards which is a design team that makes me remember that life is for living well, and for laughing.

Sleep tight!

My greatest day of 2008.

A wonderful gift arrived for me today. I'm so excited about all the future projects I can get to do with my new Canon.  Yay for Canon. Yay for Lark. Thank you so much, Dane and Veronika !!!
